Celebrating Valentines Day as a Bad Ass Single Lady

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be about coupledom. It can be a day to celebrate the most important relationship you’ll ever have: the one with yourself. Whether it’s indulging in your favorite hobbies, spending time with friends, or simply enjoying your own company, being single on Valentine’s Day is an opportunity to focus on you.

In the movie Valentine’s Day, Jessica Biel throws an “I HATE Valentine’s Day” dinner for her fellow “unlucky in LOVE” cohorts. She definitely had me at heart pinata. Briliant!

This movie spoke to me as I too was unlucky in love. LOL! ORRRR was I actually lucky in the fact that I did not have to face the disappointment of my expectations of the day, such as an awekward date or gift exchange?

I’m here to remind you: being single doesn’t mean you’re lacking. It means you’re thriving… Let’s talk about why being single on your own terms is the ultimate glow-up.

Hear me out! I am not being a Valentine’s hater. I am only suggesting that there are standards and expectations that are put on this day that can backfire.

Like when Kim Cattrall, in Sex in the City, made herself a nude sushi buffet and that didn’t go as planned. I do love LOVE, and dream of someone share my life with. In the meantime, I am deciding to celebrate myself this Feb 14th and want you to as well.

Let’s relish the freedom to make the day entirely your own!

1. Treat Yourself to Something Special

Who says you need someone else to buy you a gift? Invest in something that brings you joy, whether it’s a piece of jewelry, a new book, or a spa day. Remember, you’re worth every ounce of effort and care you pour into yourself.

2. Create a Self-Love Ritual

Dedicate time to an activity that fills your cup. Light some candles, run a bubble bath, or spend time journaling about your dreams and goals. This Valentine’s Day, focus on nurturing your mind, body, and soul.

3. Write Yourself a Love Letter

Take a few minutes to write a heartfelt letter to yourself. Celebrate your strengths, acknowledge your growth, and remind yourself of your worth. This simple act can be incredibly healing and affirming.

4. Focus on Your Well-Being

Use Valentine’s Day as a reminder to prioritize your health and happiness. Whether it’s starting a new fitness routine, trying meditation, or cooking a healthy meal, small acts of care can have a big impact on your overall well-being.

5. Redefine Love

Love isn’t just about romance; it’s about connection, kindness, and joy. Spend time with people who uplift you, engage in hobbies you adore, or give back to your community. Expand your definition of love to include all the ways you experience joy and fulfillment.

6. Set Boundaries and Raise Your Standards

Part of loving yourself is knowing your worth and refusing to settle for less than you deserve. Take this day to reaffirm your boundaries and commit to surrounding yourself with people and experiences that align with your values.

7. Celebrate Your Freedom

Being single means you have the freedom to live life on your terms. Use this Valentine’s Day to appreciate the independence and possibilities that come with this chapter of your life.

8. Embrace the Journey

Self-love is a commitment, not a option. Use Valentine’s Day as a checkpoint to evaluate how you’re caring for yourself and how far you came this year. Celebrate your progress and commit to continuing the work of loving yourself.

10. Plan a Solo Adventure

Break away from routine and treat yourself to a day of exploration and fun. Whether it’s visiting a nearby town, exploring a museum, or taking a scenic drive, spending time with yourself in a new setting can be invigorating. Pack a journal or camera to capture the moments that bring you joy. These adventures can help you reconnect with your passions and remind you of the beauty in solo experiences. BONUS You don’t have to compromise!

11. Upgrade Your Vision Board

Look at what you have already accomplished and upgrade! Why? Because YOU are a Bad Ass and WTF NOT! Seriously, this will keep you motivated and on track to your highest potential. Remember, you can and you will!

This Valentine’s Day, make yourself the priority. Give yourself the gift of self-love. You’ll not only enrich your life but also set the foundation for healthier, more fulfilling relationships in the future. Remember: you are worthy of love, joy, and celebration every single day.💗💗

How will you celebrate YOU this year?
